My Moviestorm Upgrade, Moviestorm News Round Up

As previously reported, Moviestorm is now at v1.1.6. My own upgrade went quickly and smoothly, with absolutely no problems to report. Specific details as to what is included in the upgrade can be read here.

And in case you missed it, Moviestorm has been piecemeal revealing information about some exciting new packs and features coming down the pike. Most recently, they mentioned the fire and explosions.

Other visual and special effects teased include Night vision, Sepia toning, Black and white, Greyscale with red boost, Halftone, Negative, Glow, Bloom, Camera shake, Ripple distortion, and Night.

By the way, in the credits, did you notice the mention of the MUSIC pack? Anyway, while some were working creating the filters, one Stormer was having some extra play time with them, doing sort of a combo-remix thing. Things could get very interesting. Myself, I’ve always liked the existing cel-shading/cel-painting feature and I’m quite excited about the Black & White filter.

Another sure-to-please crowd favourite is that handheld props are now customizable.

And check out THIS fantastic clever little trick done entirely in Moviestorm, meaning “no third party editing, no reshoots, no fancy post-processing”.

Technologic Overkill by Steve Ellington - The First Music Video Shot on an iPhone 3GS

This little gem of a film by Steve Ellington (previous post) is believed to be the first music video shot on an iPhone 3Gs, although other are laying claim to the crown.
